Immigrant day Background

Each year in May, immigrant communities from around California travel to Sacramento to visit their legislators and raise awareness about issues that are important to newcomers in California.

In prior years, Immigrant Day has included constitutent visits with members of the Assembly, Senate, and Governor’s staff, grassroots trainings on the legislative process, rallies, press conferences, and strategy sessions for immigrant advocates.
